Europa Park

This is the largest amusement park in Germany with 5.5 million visitors annually. It ranks behind Euro-Disneyland in Paris as the second most visited in Europe. It boasts 5 hotels, a campground, and a movie house (cinema). The idea for the park came to Franz and Roland Mack, father and son, in 1972 during their travel in the USA. Their family business had earlier manufactured carriages, then later circus coaches and similar things. Today it makes attractions for amusement parks. The amusement park opened in 1975 in the park of the Balthasar Castle. In addition to its many regular attractions, the Park also contains pavillions of the countries of the European Union and features their delicious culinary specialties.
