A building of superlatives, that’s what the “Elphi”, as it is called for short, can be called. With its extraordinarily glamorous façade, it ranks among the world’s great concert halls. The internationally renowned acoustician Yasuhisa Toyota took care of the excellent acoustics. At 51 meters it is the highest concert hall in the world, and the longest curved escalator in the world can also be found here. The large concert hall floats in the middle of the building to ensure complete soundproofing. Outside noises no longer penetrate, not even the deafening ship’s horn of the Queen Mary 2. Incidentally, with the living and overnight accommodations on offer, it is also the most expensive residential building in Germany.
