How to book a flight
What to do and what to notice at the airport?Flights can be booked according to the usual classifications (quality, comfort, service, punctuality, etc.):
– First Class
– Business Class
– Economy.
Online airline reservations can replace the traditional paper tickets. As a rule a personal booking code can serve as verifiable proof of booking. However, you should confirm your departure time 24 hours prior to your flight.
Through entering your booking code over the Internet you can access and print out your ticket and/or boarding pass. Alternatively, you can show your ticket as an “E-Ticket” on your cell phone.
In the main hall of the airports you can find the electronic boards displaying the flights with their respective flight numbers, as well as the corresponding check-in counters and Terminal. If you prefer, you can have your ticket printed out the old-fashioned way at the check-in counter. Finally, hand over your luggage at the “Baggage-Drop-off counter”. If you only have carry-on bags, you can go directly to your departure gate. Be sure to have your passport or personal identification ready! If you want to bring oversize items such as skis, bicycle, surfboard, etc., be sure to make the arrangements in advance with the airline.
Weapons, explosives, or other flammable items (lighters, etc.), are not permitted and will not go through the usual security screening.
Attention: Be aware of the “last call” for boarding the plane!
As a rule for short- or medium-range flights, you must be at your gate at least a half-hour before your departure; for long-range flights that may be more than two hours.
Attention: after the “last call” for boarding the plane, you lose your seat reservation and may not be able to recover it.
